Anvil Theatre presents the Raine Hamilton String Trio on May 4 at 7:30 pm, in a concert that delivers resonant, acoustic chamber-folk with an otherworldly edge.

Based in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Hamilton’s sound is anchored in the ancient mountains, with prism-clear vocals, transcendent strings, and a lyric presence that cuts deep. The performer is part prairie songstress, part storyweaver; each of their songs delivers a tale with humour and grace.

Hamilton invites their love of strings into the singer-songwriter genre, crafting tunes for violin, guitar, and voice. They were awarded the Canadian Folk Music Award for Emerging Artist of the Year in 2018, and have toured Canada from coast to coast.

Joined for this concert by a cellist and upright bassist, expect arrangements from Hamilton that push, pull, move, and console.

An American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter will perform alongside the trio.

Tickets and more details are at Anvil Theatre.
