Arts Umbrella is hosting an Open House and Registration Fair on September 9, from 10 am until 3 pm at their 1400 Johnston Street location on Granville Island.

Guests can speak with discipline experts from the schools of Art & Design, Dance, and Theatre, Music & Film. It is an opportunity to ask questions, register for classes for the upcoming school year, and explore Arts Umbrella’s state-of-the-art facility. Tours will take place at 10 am, 12 pm, and 2 pm.

Arts Umbrella Dance is pleased to offer two free trial classes for students in Grades 1-12. No previous dance experience is required; depending on dance experience, Grade 6 & 7’s can choose the 11:15am or 1:15pm trial class. Classes will touch on some ballet and movement concepts and aim to provide prospective students a glimpse of dance programs at Arts Umbrella. Dancers are asked to wear comfortable clothes that they can move in and ballet slippers or socks. Dance trial class times: 11:15-11:45am – for Grades 1-7; 1:15-1:45pm – for Grades 6-12.

Arts Umbrella welcomes everyone who is curious to attend this event, including young people who are interested in the arts, individuals who are accompanying young artists, or those who would simply like to look around.
