Arts Umbrella is announcing a new Stagecraft Pro-D Day workshop series for the 2023-24 school year at its Granville Island location.

Created for aspiring theatrical technicians ages 13 to 19 and instructed by working industry professionals, these workshops will cover a range of technical theatre including sound design, stage management, lighting design, and more.

The first workshops of the year will be Stage Management on October 20 and Sound Design on November 24, instructed by Marijka Asbeek Brusse (Vancouver Opera, Banff Centre, Touchstone Theatre) and Matthew Piton (Ballet BC, The Arts Club, Bard on the Beach), respectively.

Class sizes are limited to ensure individual attention, and each student will be provided with a work station for the day.

Registration information is available here for the Stage Management workshop, and here for the Sound Design workshop. Questions can be directed to Arts Umbrella’s student services team at info@artsumbrella.com.
