Arts Umbrella presents Strings of the Universe, a musical performance composed by Jack Campbell and inspired by renowned Musqueam artist Debra Sparrow’s weaving, on February 25 at 2 pm.

Violinist Jasper Wood, harpist Dr. Joy Yeh, and double-bassist Meaghan Williams will bring the composition to life at the Jack and Darlene Poole Theatre at Arts Umbrella Granville Island. The free event will begin with an interview featuring Sparrow and Campbell, moderated by Arts Umbrella president and CEO Paul Larocque.

Sparrow is an acclaimed weaver who has been practicing her craft for more than 20 years, and is deeply involved with the revival of Musqueam weaving. Her artwork can be seen across North America.

Campbell is a skilled violinist, composer, and arts leader in the community and beyond. As a composer, his music focuses on the unison between contemporary classical sound worlds and visual art, dance, and electronic-acoustic soundscapes.

Tickets are at Arts Umbrella.
