It seems like these days in the arts and culture sector, there are more questions than answers. How do you launch your own podcast? How do you file your own taxes as a self-employed artist?

With everyone scrambling to learn new ways, new mediums, and new skills, all while confronting the realities of a global pandemic, the BC Alliance for Arts + Culture is stepping in to help. It’s announced a roster of online Zoom workshops coming up this spring that make learning fun and easy.

Amid the offerings:

  • Tax Relief: COVID-19 Support and More on March 10 from 10 am to 1 pm, led by accounting expert Marianna Scott;

  • Gaming Grants 101 on March 16, 1 to 3:30 pm, with arts administrator Mary Ann S. Anderson;

  • Digital Marketing in COVID: Facebook + Instagram Advertising, March 25 and April 1, 10:30 am to noon, led by Brian Paterson of Murray Paterson Marketing Group;

  • Getting Started With Podcasting, April 7, 10 to 11:30 am, with Bigsnit Media Consulting’s Robert Ouimet;

  • And Gender Diversity in the Workplace: Positive Approaches for Supporting Transgender, Non-Binary, and Two-Spirit Employees and Clients, April 13, 10 am to noon, with Kingsley Strudwick of Ambit Gender Diversity Consulting.
