BlueShore at CapU’s tradition of rounding up talented musicians to re-imagine a classic album continues at the Kay Meek Arts Centre on October 13 and 14 at 7:30 pm.

This edition of the popular two-night event features ten musicians from Vancouver and the U.S., conjuring the peerless Bob Dylan as he was changing folk music forever with his sixth album Highway 61 Revisited.

It’s a chance to hear such timeless songs as “Like a Rolling Stone”, “Desolation Row”, “Tombstone Blues”, and the brilliant title track performed by Barney Bentall, John Boutté, Jim Byrnes, Joachim Cooder, Maya de Vitry, Alvin Youngblood Hart, Ndidi Onukwulu, Dawn Pemberton, Suzie Ungerleider, and the show’s musical director Steve Dawson.

Recorded around the time of Dylan’s hugely controversial electric performance at the Newport Folk Festival, Highway 61 Revisited launched a new, cutting-edge folk-rock sound complete with compelling lyrics that were light-years ahead of anything else on the charts.

Tickets are available here.
