Juno-winning vocalist Caity Gyorgy brings vocal command of swing music to the Shadbolt

The singer-songwriter will be joined by a stellar five-piece band

Caity Gyorgy.

Shadbolt Centre for the Arts is thrilled to present Juno-winning vocalist Caity Gyorgy (pronounced like “George”). Known for her vocal command of swing music, the singer-songwriter performs on November 6 at 7:30 pm at Studio Theatre (6450 Deer Lake Avenue, Burnaby).

The artist’s repertoire is full of classic standards as well as standard-esque original compositions with tight and inspired arrangements akin to those by luminaries such as Betty Carter, Blossom Dearie, and Sarah Vaughan.

An avid composer and arranger, Gyorgy writes songs in the style of the Great American Songbook. Her compositions have been performed by vocalists around the world, and she was crowned the grand prize winner of the 2021 John Lennon Songwriting Contest in the jazz category for "Secret Safe”.

Joining Gyorgy at the Shadbolt’s Studio Theatre are Cory Weeds (tenor saxophone), Jocelyn Waugh (trumpet), Miles Black (piano), Conrad Good (bass), and Todd Stewart (drums).
