Be the first to hear two world premieres that explore the human story at Chor Leoni’s Earth & Aether: the archaeology of soul and sky at St. Andrew’s-Wesley United Church on May 11 at 4 pm.

Funded by the Diane Loomer Commissioning Fund, Chor Leoni commissioned Australian-American composer Melissa Dunphy and Grammy-nominated American composer Kile Smith to take audiences on a choral journey through the past and future. In these two works, audiences will explore the legacies humans have left behind on the planet, and the music and words that have been sent out as space-travelling radio waves.

Dunphy’s The Things We Leave Behind contrasts stories of the past with stories currently being created, while Smith’s Wireless considers how early radio-broadcasting texts speak to folks today. Chor Leoni will be joined for the concert by harpist Vivian Chen and saxophonist Julia Nolan.

Tickets and more details are available through Chor Leoni.
