Crafted Vancouver was all set to welcome people into the Pipe Shop in North Vancouver for 2021 Crafted Interiors—A Lifestyle Exhibition, but public-health restrictions called for a last-minute pivot. In an extraordinary result, the annual festival has created a virtual walk-through of the stunning exhibition in that same gorgeous historic exhibition space.

Thoughtfully curated, the show features exceptional furniture, lighting, textiles, ceramics, accessories, decorative pieces, and more for home or office spaces.

The beauty and advantage of the virtual walk-through is that people from all over the world can navigate and pore over every exquisite piece—and listen to the audio component accompanying many of the objects—at their leisure from their own homes. You simply click on a piece you want to learn more about, and all of the details appear on your screen, making it incredibly easy to discover the maker and connect them directly with inquiries or to purchase.

Representing the efforts of 34 Crafted Vancouver event partners with more than 200 pieces of outstanding craft, the exhibition is the result of hundreds of hours of work. It’s all to celebrate and promote the use of fine handcrafted furniture and other craft-based work as objects for everyday use.

Crafted Interiors connects makers of exemplary work with people eager to discover innovative, beautifully detailed pieces that tell a unique story.

Crafted Vancouver is also excited to share its 2021 Festival Guidebook—virtually.

Although the fest’s team misses travelling all over the Lower Mainland to share print versions of the guidebook, this year’s online edition is just as beautiful and informative.

You can flip through all of the events happening throughout the festival, from the Conversation Series to REEL Crafted film festival. The digital guidebook also includes a tribute to late woodworking and furniture-making genius Judson Beaumont.

The book reflects the festival’s goal to build a bridge between skilled craftspeople and those who appreciate outstanding craftsmanship and design.

Crafted Vancouver runs until May 25. For more information, visit its website.
