In celebration of 27 years, the Eastside Culture Crawl is holding its annual Take Flight benefit, the official launch of the festival’s 2023 iteration. This year’s benefit features two ways to support the Eastside Culture Crawl: an online Silent Auction which runs from October 26 to November 4, and an Art Roulette.

The Art Roulette art draw is the most celebrated highlight of the annual Take Flight benefit. This year, 31 Eastside artists donated original artworks for the event, valued on average at $700 apiece.

Each ticket holder ranks the artwork, and is given a unique number that’s entered into a random draw. The numbers are drawn, and the ticket holder receives their highest ranked artwork available from their list.

Support of the Art Roulette fundraiser allows the Eastside Arts Society, producers of the Eastside Culture Crawl, to continue offering free festival programming.

This year’s roulette artwork was generously donated by Miriam Aroeste, Deborah Bakos, Donn Bennett, Janine Breck, Rosemary Burd, Niina Chebry, Chrissy Cheung, Marney-Rose Edge, Brent Granby, Anyuta Gusakova, Carole Itter, NikNaz Kahnamoui, Tiko Kerr, Dave Kowalchuk, Eve Leader, Kate MacDonald, Ewan McNeil, Susan Patterson, Sharon Petty, Gillian Richards, Michael Soltis, Mira Song, John Steil, Colette Tan, M.A. Tateishi, Richard Tetrault, Michal Tkachenko, Steve Williams, Jeff Wilson, Taaye Wong, and Josema Zamorano.

Interested collectors can also preview the art in person during a salon-style exhibit, and enjoy a glass of wine while deciding on their favorite pieces. Viewings are held at the Georgia Art Studios from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm on October 26, as well as from 2 pm to 5 pm on October 28 and November 4. Art Roulette tickets are available for purchase here until November 4.

Highlights of the Silent Auction, which can be viewed here, include Sunshine Coast vacation getaway packages, diamond stud earrings from Grimson & Sons, a $350 John Fluevog Shoes gift certificate, and plenty more.

Plus, the all-new Culture Crawl Art Raffle draw opens November 2 and ends November 19 at 6 pm. Supporters have the opportunity to win extraordinary artwork from some of the festival’s most celebrated artists—David Robinson and Richard Tetrault—as well as a Night out on the Town package with tickets to two Ballet BC shows, a gift card for Salvio Volpe, and two nights’ accommodation at the Opus Hotel.
