After a pandemic hiatus last year, the Preview Exhibitions are back in celebration of the Eastside Culture Crawl’s 25th anniversary.

Called Surfacing 2021, the multi-venue, salon-style curated exhibition features key works by more than 85 Crawl artists across media—including painting, drawing, photography, printmaking, sculpture, video, and much more. It’s an opportunity to discover artists whose work you may want to explore in a more in-depth way during the Crawl, happening in a unique, expanded format this year, by appointment November 12 to 14 and in its traditional drop-in format from November 18 to 21.

Find the exhibition spread across Eastside Arts District venues the Cultch (which is hosting its display online), the Firehall Arts Centre, and Alternative Creations; new this year, the downtown’s iconic Pendulum Gallery and Gastown’s Herschel Infinity Room will be exhibiting for Surfacing.

This year’s exhibition will harness the creative force that’s come out of the pandemic period, chronicling new directions of recent works.
