Friends of Chamber Music welcome the Busch Trio to Vancouver for its Canadian debut on November 7 at the Vancouver Playhouse at 7:30 pm.

An Amsterdam-based ensemble, the Busch Trio is a leading piano group of the new generation. Composed of pianist Omri Epstein, cellist Ori Epstein, and violinist Mathieu van Bellen, the trio have been playing music together since they first met while studying at the Royal College of Music in London.

The group’s name pulls its inspiration from van Bellen’s “ex-Adolf Busch” G.B. Guadagnini (Turin, 1783) violin.

The upcoming concert opens with Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Piano Trio in B-flat Major, one of the composer’s late piano trios. This enduring crowd-pleaser is followed by two 20th-century works: Maurice Ravel’s Piano Trio in A Minor, and Dmitri Shostakovich’s Piano Trio No. 2 in E Minor, Opus 67.

Tickets are available at Friends of Chamber Music.
