Music on Main presents acclaimed pianist Vicky Chow for a performance on March 28 at 7:30 pm at the Christ Church Cathedral.

Originally from Vancouver and now based in Brooklyn, New York, Chow will return to play legendary composer Philip Glass’s Piano Études, Book 1, which Glass wrote to explore and refine his own piano technique.

Since 2009, Chow has been a member of the famed Bang on a Can All-Stars, a six-member ensemble recognized worldwide for their ultra-dynamic live performances and recordings. Her deep understanding of Glass’ work is informed by her connection with the composer, who she first met while performing with him at the same piano for the annual Bang on a Can Marathon concert in New York City.

Chow was Music on Main’s first artist-in-residence in 2018. She is on the Board of Advisors for nonprofit Composers Now, and is also a mentor at The Juilliard School.

Tickets for the show and more information can be found at Music on Main.
