How do we make art tangible? How do we share the traces of performances once present but now gone?

Rumble Theatre and Theatre Replacement, with SFU, will try to do just that with the latest free installation of Ephemera. Ephemera V: From the Past to the Future takes place June 26 from 5 to 8 pm at Progress Lab 1422, 1422 William Street.

They invite you to submit up to three paper or flat artefacts related to the process of creative works, from initial idea through development and performance. These can be anything from any timeline. The gathered group will then organize, structure, catalogue, and preserve this detritus of past performances—celebrating our shared memories and history along the way.

Examples of previous item submissions include post-it notes, handbills, small props, and folded costumes.

The show title, “ephemera”, refers to paper items (such as posters, broadsides, and tickets) that were originally meant to be discarded after use but have since become collectibles.

Celebrate, commemorate, and collectively tell the stories of our work, representing a moment in time and in the history of your community. Share the traces of performances once present but now gone.

This event is for all ages; free and no registration required.
