SFU Woodward’s Cultural Programs’ partnership with 2b theatre company began in 2022 with the hit klezmer-fuelled musical Old Stock: A Refugee Love Story—a humorously dark folk tale woven together with a high-energy concert.

Raw, emotional storytelling connects audiences coast to coast, and offers up space for local audiences to witness and celebrate the work of artists from across Canada. Playwright Hannah Moscovitch has mined true stories of two Jewish Romanian refugees coming to Canada in 1908 for the show.

SFUW’s friends from Halifax return to join in this 10th anniversary year with the return of Old Stock: A Refugee Love Story from December 1 to 4 at the SFU Goldcorp Centre for the Arts (149 West Hastings Street). Tickets are on sale here.

In the newest podcast for ArtScape, Michael Boucher speaks with Ben Caplan and Christian Barry about 2b theatre company and its long relationship with SFU Woodward’s.
