Vancouver Academy of Music Symphony Orchestra plays season finale concerts, May 25 and 26

It’s the season finale with the Vancouver Academy of Music Symphony Orchestra as they present the timeless masterpiece, Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9 in E minor, “From the New World”. Performances will take place at the Kay Meek Arts Centre on May 25 at 7:30 pm, and at the Orpheum on May 26 at 2 pm.

Audiences are invited to immerse themselves in Dvořák’s lush melodies, echoing the spirit of exploration and the wonders of the American landscape. Featuring the brilliant trumpet virtuoso Jens Lindemann and maestro Ian Parker on piano, this concert will transport listeners through time, showcasing the richness of classical and jazz influences that continue to inspire generations.

The Vancouver Academy of Music Symphony Orchestra will also perform Gilliland’s Dreaming of the Masters III with a trumpet solo by Lindemann, and Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue with both Lindemann and Parker.
