Vancouver Bach Choir presents Behind the Keys, its charming annual Valentine’s Day fundraiser concert, at the Annex on February 9 at 7:30 pm.

Join maestro Leslie Dala and tenor Asitha Tennekoon as they guide the audience through an elegant and intimate program. Featured pieces on the lineup include Clara Schumann’s 3 Romances, Robert Schumann’s Dichterliebe, Ian Cusson’s Love Songs on Poems of Michael Ondaatje, and George Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue.

A conductor and pianist, Dala is music director of the Vancouver Bach Choir. Tennekoon, who was born and raised in Sri Lanka, is a co-founder of Amplified Opera.

Behind the Keys was first started in 2014 and has sold out every year since. Tickets include a glass of wine and a chocolate, and guests have the option of elevating their might with a charcuterie add-on.

Proceeds of the event go directly to the programs of the Vancouver Bach Family of Choirs, Children’s Choir bursaries for those who face financial barriers, new commissions and artistic partnerships. To purchase tickets and learn more information, visit Vancouver Bach Family of Choirs.
