It’s been said that one of the best things about the Vancouver Folk Music Festival isn’t who you know on the roster, but who you don’t. Quite possibly the most exciting part of the 46th annual event, which takes place from July 14 to 16 this year at Jericho Beach Park, is the musical discovery that unfolds.

Festival veterans know there’s pure joy in hearing new music, learning about long-standing traditions, and finding an artist that becomes a life-long favourite by the time guests are following the lanterns out of the park.

This year, that exploration continues with a lineup of artists guaranteed to become part of many listeners’ forever playlists. Hear Tré Burt’s fierce social message, Amythyst Kiah’s triumphant voice, entrancing music from Southern Italy performed by Kalàscima featuring Andrea Ramolo, TikTok sensations Tiny Habits, or the sonic explosion from East Los Angeles that is Las Cafeteras.

Day and weekend ticket passes are available here.
