Vancouver Symphony Orchestra performs an ode to joy with Beethoven's 9th Symphony

Vancouver Symphony Orchestra is thrilled to be presenting the Masterwork of the season. An Ode To Joy: Beethoven’s 9th features the legendary composer’s magnum opus under the baton of VSO Maestro Otto Tausk.

Also on offer at this exciting spring concert: Piano virtuoso and national treasure Angela Cheng will perform Piano Concerto in G Major by Maurice Ravel.

Plus, the VSO will perform the North American premiere of Elysium, a co-commission from Canadian composer Samy Moussa. Also appearing on the program is soprano Teiya Kasahara, a co-founder of Amplified Opera and, since 2021, Canadian Opera Company’s Disruptor-in-Residence.

Taking place April 29 and 30 at 8 pm and May 1 at 2 pm at the Orpheum Theatre, An Ode To Joy: Beethoven’s 9th is part of Assante Masterworks Diamond Series and RGF Integrated Wealth Symphony Sundays.
