Shadbolt Centre for the Arts presents the incomparable Canadian jazz vocalist Emilie-Claire Barlow on May 3 at 7:30 pm.

Barlow will lead her stellar band through innovative arrangements of Great American Songbook treasures, rhythmic bossa novas, and elegant ballads. A two-time Juno Award winner and six-time nominee, she endears herself to critics, peers, and audiences everywhere with her relaxed, polished demeanour, charming humour, and voice of unforgettable beauty.

Barlow’s upcoming concert in Burnaby will feature favourites from her extensive repertoire, as well as arrangements from her 13th album Spark Bird, newly released on her own Empress Music Group label. Each song on the record has its own signature bird with a special connection to the music, inspired by the artist’s ongoing curiosity and passion for the magical creatures.

The show is part of Barlow’s ongoing 2023-24 album-release tour. Tickets and more details are at the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts.
