Arts Umbrella Dance Company’s Mixed Nuts, a holiday family favourite, returns to the Vancouver Playhouse from December 15 to 17 with showtimes at 2 pm and 7 pm.

A modern and engaging twist on Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker, Mixed Nuts brings an assortment of dance styles together for an extra-special holiday treat.

Arts Umbrella Dance Company, led by artistic director Artemis Gordon, is Arts Umbrella’s pre-professional repertory company. Dancers rehearse and perform new, innovative works by leading North American and European choreographers in their season, which includes three annual performances: December’s Mixed Nuts, March’s Midseason, and May’s Season Finale

The company’s broad-based performance and touring opportunities, along with rigorous technical training, prepares dancers for education at the university level as well as for a career with professional dance companies. Graduates can be found dancing in companies around the world, including Kidd Pivot, Nederlands Dans Theater II, Ballet BC, and more.

Tickets to Mixed Nuts are available here.
