DanceHouse is thrilled to present the online Canadian premiere of Body and Soul, choreographed by Vancouver’s own Crystal Pite and performed by the Paris Opera Ballet.

An exciting new collaboration means you can take the virtual presentation to the next level and travel to Paris without leaving home.

DanceHouse has two French-style food pairing opportunities available, meaning you can make Body and Soul a special night out while staying in.

Faubourg is pleased to partner once again with DanceHouse and contribute to making the presentation of Body and Soul a truly French experience. Any meal order from February 17 to 23 will receive a delicious complimentary macaron, delivered to your home or for pick-up at the Kerrisdale location.

Faubourg proudly showcases its savoir-faire and shares its passion for traditional French breads, viennoiseries, pastries, and macarons. It wishes to inspire people to adopt the French art de vivre (art of living) and indulge in the pleasures that fine food can bring. (Orders must be placed 24 hours prior to delivery, 48 hours for certain products, via Faubourg Express).

Dip & Sip is similarly delighted to partner with DanceHouse, offering patrons a 15-percent discount on pre-orders placed through its website for delivery or pick-up between February 17 and 23.

Inspired by French “apéro”, Dip & Sip offers online ordering and delivery of charcuterie grazing boxes, cocktail kits, and snacks to share. Each box is assembled with care using a variety of fresh and seasonal ingredients to bring taste and cheer right to your doorstep.

Orders must be placed at least 24 hours in advance and quantities are limited.

The initiative is a shining example of how the performing arts and the local dining scene can help each other out amid the disruptions and financial hardship of COVID-19 by working together. While we can’t wait for theatres to re-open and for live performances to come back, one perk of the virtual experience is that you can enjoy a meal while you watch the presentation in the comfort of your own home.

Culinary arts are an integral part of French culture; a cultural night out in France usually involves food and drinks. And around the table is the best place to catch up before a show or to share impressions on the performance you’ve just seen.

For Body and Soul, you can pretend you’re having a bite at a bistro before heading to the Paris Opera house.
