Khatsahlano Street Party announces musical lineup for Wonderland-themed July 11 event
Performers at the 2026 edition include Uncle Strut, Felisha and the Jazz Rejects, Art d’Ecco, Brass Camel, Rich Hope, and many more
Local indie-pop band Meltt headlined the TD- and Stir-sponsored Burrard Stage at last year’s Khatsahlano Street Party.
AT THIS POINT, it’s more than fair to call the Khatsahlano Street Party a Vancouver institution. Since 2011, the annual event (initially called the Khatsahlano Music + Art Festival but known popularly as Khats) has taken over 10 blocks of West 4th Avenue between Burrard Street and Macdonald Street for one day each summer.
Well, most summers, at any rate. A certain global pandemic put the kibosh on plans for 2020 and ’21, but Khats has been going strong ever since, showcasing the neighbourhood and its merchants and putting the spotlight on local musical acts, both up-and-coming and established.
Today, the Kitsilano 4th Avenue Business Improvement Association and MRG Live announced the full lineup for this year’s edition, which has a Lewis Carroll–inspired Wonderland theme and takes place on July 11. You’ll find the entire schedule on the Khats website, but here are a few of the highlights:
Uncle Strut
Headlining the Burrard Stage (which Stir co-presents along with TD), Uncle Strut delivers both groove-oriented indie rock and matching moustaches, which is a winning combo if we’ve ever seen one. The same stage will also host the rock and neo-soul fusion of Felisha and the Jazz Rejects, the raw postpunk of Concrete Vehicles, the self-described “dirty soul” of Leo D.E Johnson, the jazz fusion of Chopping Spree!, alt-country from Big Rig, roots-driven blues courtesy of Emmett Jerome, and the dreamy, electronic-laced indie of Jian & Kitten Co.
In today’s announcement, music curator Grant McDonagh of Zulu Records said, “My favourite aspect of Khatsahlano on West 4th is watching thousands of people of all ages discovering a myriad of talented performers. This year’s line up features exciting new artists as well as established sure-fire favourites, all hailing from British Columbia.”
Other highlights of the day include sets by Art d’Ecco, Rich Hope, Brass Camel, 64 Funnycars, Kimmortal, Tripswitch, and worrywart. And did we mention that it’s all free? We’re not saying that’s the best part, but in this economy it certainly doesn’t hurt. ![]()
