Free concerts, puppets, dance, and more window performances at Shine Bright New West
Ticketed performances take place evenings December 16 to 30
Anvil Centre hosts Shine Bright New Westminster performances from December 16 to 30
Shine Bright brings the holiday spirit to New West this month, with activities and lights displays. As part of it, the Anvil Centre is hosting free window performances starting each afternoon.
That’s in addition to ticketed live performances of music, dance, and magic taking place inside the venue for the festival.
Amid the window shows, looke for the Wazaman! Guitar Duo, musicians Ed and Salve Dayo, and Quayside Voices, alongside storytellers from Culture Chats. String quartets and wind quintets will serenade you on your break from Christmas shopping, and on December 29, watch for the City of New Westminster Pipe Band to make appearances at the event.
Folk fest favourite Locarno kicks off the ticketed events on the evening of December 17. Elsewhere, check out a matinee in the Anvil Ballroom by kids’ favourites The Kerplunks on December 19, with RupLoops’ Ruby Singh performing a family friendly interactive-looping performance December 23. Jazz group Triology and Celtic band Blackthorn are also on the busy roster.
