The Improv Centre presents LOVE MONTH programming on Granville Island throughout the month of February

LOVE IS IN THE AIR this month—and there’s an abundance of comedy to accompany it. Whether you wholeheartedly embrace Valentine’s Day, loathe it with a burning passion, or fall somewhere in between, there are events that satisfy all the feels this February at The Improv Centre.

No partner? No problem: first up on the company’s special-events lineup is Gal-entine’s Day on February 13 at 7:30 pm, a femme-focused deep-dive into friendships. From epic drama to heartfelt bonds, the evening is a celebration of the love women have for each other.

The following evening on Valentine’s Day, The Improv Centre hosts Kiss and Tell at 7:30 pm. Three lucky couples in the audience will find out how well they really know each other in a comedic improvised competition. If you can get your hands on some tickets to the nearly sold-out event, expect a night of love and hilarity.

If Valentine’s Day isn’t your jam, check out Happy Un-Valentine’s Day on February 15 at 7:30 pm. It’s the perfect opportunity to vent about love, make fun of all things gushy, and get in a good laugh while you’re at it.

As for the rest of the month, there are some weekly events in store. Catch Date Night every Wednesday at 7:30 pm, a signature recurring series that honours love and loss through a comedic lens. Plus, unique to the month of February, The Improv Centre is hosting Single, Not Single every Friday and Saturday at 9:30 pm—the series is a reflection on the ups and downs of relationships.

The Improv Centre is located on Granville Island, and has all the makings for a perfect date night. Grab a drink at the venue’s waterfront patio and bar that overlooks the False Creek Marina, and settle in for an evening of comedy however you please—theatre-style or cabaret-style.

For tickets to each of the events and more information, check out The Improv Centre’s website.
