Vancouver Symphony Orchestra’s Chamberfest presents Mozart's Clarinet Quintet and Böhme Brass Sextet streaming at TheConcertHall.ca
VANCOUVER SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA’s final Chamberfest concerts of the season are now live at TheConcertHall.ca.
Mozart's Clarinet Quintet highlights the instrument’s tone and range. Joining VSO principal clarinetist Jeannette Jonquil are violinists Timothy Steeves and Carina Vincenti, violist Katrina Chitty, and principal cellist Henry Shapard.
VSO's brass section, meanwhile, plays Oskar Böhme's genre-defining Brass Sextet in E-flat minor. This melancholic piece features trumpeters Larry Knopp, Marcus Goddard, and Vincent Vohradsky as well as French horn player Andrew Mee, trombonist Brian Wendel, and tuba player Peter MacLellan.
As an encore, the musicians deliver crowd-pleasers A Foggy Day (in London Town) composed by George Gershwin and Maria from Leonard Bernstein's West Side Story.
