This September, the jazz world marks the centennial of one of its greatest musicians: John Coltrane. To honour his enduring legacy, luminaries Branford Marsalis and Dianne Reeves unite for a remarkable tribute at the Chan Centre for the Performing Arts, revisiting Coltrane’s 1963 collaboration with Johnny Hartman.

Triple Grammy–winning saxophonist Marsalis is one of the most influential and revered figures in contemporary music. He leads his celebrated quartet as he returns to the Chan Centre for the first time in a decade. Reeves is a five-time Grammy winner and the pre-eminent jazz vocalist of her generation, bringing unparalleled virtuosity and emotional depth to her singing.

Both Marsalis and Reeves have been designated a Jazz Master by The National Endowment for the Arts—the highest honour the United States bestows on jazz artists.

The duo will perform October 13 at 7:30 pm, Co-presentated with the Coastal Jazz & Blues Society.
