Vancouver Recital Society presents Yuja Wang on March 30 at the Orpheum Theatre at 7:30 pm.
VANCOUVER IS THE launching pad for celebrated pianist Yuja Wang’s 2022 North American and European recital tour, which also has stops in L.A., New York, London, Paris, Milan, Prague, Vienna, Berlin, and beyond.
Born in Beijing, Wang was named Musical America’s Artist of the Year in 2017.
The program for her Vancouver Recital Society concert will include works by Ligeti, Beethoven, and Kapustin. Wang made her VRS debut in 2008 in the very early stages of her career and has since returned twice.
“Hers is a nonchalant, brilliant keyboard virtuosity that would have made both Prokofiev (who was a great pianist) and even the fabled Horowitz jealous,” the Los Angeles Times wrote.
More information is at VRS.
