Chapel Sound Art Foundation presents the inaugural Constellation Festival from November 12 to 15 at The Polygon Gallery, Roundhouse Community Arts and Recreation Centre, and Atelier254.
Bringing film screenings, artist conversations, live music, and an experimental movement battle, the festival invites audiences to encounter artistic practices that nurture connection and imagine new ways of living together. This multidisciplinary festival is a result of a two-year cultural production mentorship program spearheaded by Nancy Lee, artistic director of Chapel Sound, and six emerging curators: Alger Ji-Liang (SILKWORMS), Yana Kalanzi (Neptune7), Veron Xio (Notebook Platform), Annie Ng (Fountains), Max Ammo (CADENA), and Sophia “Sosa” Laurio (Barangay Project).
Curatorial ideas for Constellation draw on roots as they form, take shape, intersect, and connect—emphasizing how artistic communities develop through exchange, adaptation, and mutual support. Across four days, the festival explores how these relationships sustain folks, and the creations that emerge by making room for symbiotic transformation.

The festival opens on November 12 at The Polygon Gallery with Indonesian filmmaker Rizky Rahad’s House of R3nc0ng: Queer Worldbuilding Amidst the Fire. Taking place from 7 pm to 9 pm, this artist talk, screening, and conversation is moderated by Love Intersections and co-presented with SILKWORMS.
Programming continues at the Roundhouse on November 13 with an electronic music concert co-presented by Fountains and Notebook, followed on November 14 by an experimental movement battle with Barangay Project judged by Simran Sachar and Su-Feh Lee, and an evening featuring live audio-visual performances by Entrañas and Sewa Choki, co-presented by CADENA and Neptune7.
The festival closes November 15 from 6 pm to 10 pm at Atelier254, with Rizky Rahad and Alger Ji-Liang’s ROT IS A FORM OF REBELLION—Queer Cinema and the Politics of Decay. Co-presented by SILKWORMS and UNIT/PITT, this event explores how queer cinema challenges inherited social structures and creates space for other ways of being.
Chapel Sound was founded as a grassroots artist and DJ collective in 2012. The Vancouver-based organization supports boundary-pushing electronic and multidisciplinary arts through presentation, mentorship, production, and community space.
More artists and program details will be announced in the lead-up to the festival.
