REGISTRATION IS NOW open for Imagine Van Gogh, which comes to the Vancouver Convention Centre in February 2021 atwith public-health guidelines in place.

The exhibition is unique in that viewers enter the master’s world of dreams through a grand and immersive “Total Image” concept, created by French artistic directors Annabelle Mauger and Julien Baron.

“Original canvasses are expanded and fragmented, then projected into unusual shapes to emphasize the mesmerizing exaggerations and distortions of Van Gogh’s work,” Mauger said in a release. “Visitors experience their energy, emotion, and beauty like never before.”

Imagine Van Gogh first appeared in France then travelled to Montreal and Quebec City earlier this year. Before closing in March, Montreal’s showing received close to 200,000 visitors. When it ran in Quebec City this past summer, 75,000 people attended.

The exhibition is currently underway in Winnipeg, having been extended to the end of December due to demand.

Paquin Entertainment Group and Tandem Expositions, in conjunction with Encore Productions (France), are behind the production. In 1987, Pascal Bernardin created Encore Productions (Disney on Ice, Mamma Mia, The Walking Dinosaurs). The company joined the Fimalac Entertainment group in 2014 and has gone on to mount international exhibitions such as The Titanic, The Art of The Brick, Jurassic World, Game of Thrones, Harry Potter, and Imagine Picasso.

In compliance with BC COVID-19 health orders, a limited number of guests will be allowed in on a timed-entry basis, hand sanitizer will be provided, physical distancing will be enforced, and masks will be mandatory. Registration is now open at Imagine Van Gogh.
