THE LATEST IN the Chutzpah! Kibbitz series features Spanish-born, New York City-based pianist Josefina Urraca along with NYC flutist Guillermo Laporta in conversation with host Iris Bahr and Chutzpah! artistic managing director Jessica Gutteridge. They’ll chat about life, love, music, and what conductors are reallylike.
The online event also features a program of works by composers Ernest Bloch and Paul Schoenfield.
Urraca is a chamber-music artist who has performed in venues such as Carnegie Hall, Salzburg Mozarteum, Ryogoku Monten Hall, and Salle Cortot in Paris. The founder of the Platform for the development of the Arts in Rural Areas in Spain, Urraca is also co-director of New York City’s CreArtBox, which presents “exceptional classical and new music with a crafted visual aesthetic through programs designed to foster art commitment in today’s society”.
Laporta is the founder and executive director of CreArtBox as well as a resident artist at CultureLabLIC in Queens and president of ADAMR-Art development in rural Spain. He studied at the Royal College of Music of London and also works as composer, designer, and multimedia creator.
A beloved Chutzpah! regular, Bahr is an actor, comedian, and writer, best known for “Hacks” (2021) and “Curb Your Enthusiasm” (2000), among other shows.
