Modus Operandi performs dance pieces in development at New Works show, March 24
Contemporary dance training program of nearly 30 artists presents choreographic works by Tiffany Tregarthen, David Raymond, and Yue Yin
New Works presents Modus Operandi | Works in Development at the Roundhouse Community Arts & Recreation Centre on March 24 at 3 pm
TIFFANY TREGARTHEN AND David Raymond are a true power couple on the Vancouver dance scene: from performing with Crystal Pite’s Kidd Pivot to choreographing their company Out Innerspace Dance Theatre’s latest work Last Flower for Ballet BC, they’ve made a standout name for themselves over 18 years of collaboration.
Tregarthen and Raymond also happen to be co-artistic directors of the post-secondary contemporary dance training program Modus Operandi, which is putting on a March 24 performance at New Works to debut some all-new pieces that are still in the development phase.
The company of just under 30 artists is set to perform a mixed program of works by Tregarthen, Raymond, and international guest artist Yue Yin, who is the founder and artistic director of New York’s YY Dance Company. Yin is known stylistically for her FoCo Technique, which fuses folk, ballet, and contemporary dance styles.
Tickets are available for purchase on a suggested sliding scale of $10 to $30, or pay-what-you-can.
