Comedy Here Often?, Hollywood Theatre partner for new monthly Vancouver stand-up series

Comedy Here Often? presents: Stand-Up at Hollywood Theatre on the last Monday of each month beginning August 23.
WITH LIVE COMEDY back on the local calendar, a new monthly stand-up series is going down at the recently restored Hollywood Theatre.
604 Records’ Comedy Here Often? is partnering with the iconic Vancouver venue for Stand-Up at Hollywood Theatre.
It kicks off on August 23 with a lineup of Juno winners. The inaugural event will feature Ivan Decker, Sophie Buddle, Jacob Samuel and Dave Merheje—the full roster of Juno winners since the comedy award was reinstated.
From there, the shows will take place on the last Monday of every month.
“We’re excited to partner with Hollywood Theatre to bring Vancouver the best in comedy every month” Kevvy Maher, Comedy Here Often? producer, said in a release. “Our community needs comedy and we’re bringing it back in a big way with these monthly shows.”
David Hawkes, oo-operator at Hollywood Theatre, added: “After a long hiatus there’s a real need for shared events in our community. Partnering with Comedy Here Often? to bring premier quality comedy shows to our city is a perfect pairing to help us welcome local comedy lovers to our newly restored space.”
Stand-Up at Hollywood Theatre isn’t the only thing in the books for 604 Records on the laugh front. It has reopened its Vancouver soundstage for intimate monthly comedy showcases, featuring talent such as Julie Kim, Yumi Nagashima, and Steev Letts.
Comedy Here Often? will also bringing shows to Victoria for the first time beginning this September in a partnership with Hecklers comedy club, where the “The Late Show” to local comedy will happen every Saturday night at 10 pm PDT.
Victoria is also where the inaugural Comedy Here Often? Pretty Good Comedy Festival will happen, a city-wide fest running August 20 to 24.
