Elektra is opening its 40th anniversary concert season—“The Ruby Season”—with Chez Nous: Christmas With Elektra. Performances are taking place at Pacific Spirit United Church on November 28 at 7:30 pm and November 29 at 3 pm.
The holidays bring joy and celebration, but also nostalgia, longing, and reflection. Under artistic director Cassie Luftspring, this year’s Chez Nous makes room for these experiences, offering music that explores memory, belonging, and the search for light.
Compositions by Shireen Abu-Khader, Srul Irving Glick, Marie-Claire Saindon, and Stephen Smith offer perspectives on peace, compassion, and connection throughout this concert shaped by the season’s emotional contrasts. Moving from intimacy and contemplation to exuberance and wonder, the program celebrates the warmth of gathering together while leaving space for quieter moments of reflection.
Members of Allegra Chamber Orchestra and singers from Elektra’s Mira Youth Mentorship program will join the choir onstage.
Tickets and more details are available through Elektra.
