TD Vancouver International Jazz Festival unveils eclectic Innovation Series at the Ironworks programming

Concerts also announced for Roundhouse Performance Centre and the North Shore Jazz Series

TICKETS GO ON SALE May 12 at 10 am for the TD Vancouver International Jazz Festival’s newly unveiled Innovation Series at The Ironworks, programming at the Roundhouse Community Arts & Recreation Centre, and the North Shore Jazz Series. They’re all part of the 36th annual fest that runs from June 24 to July 3.

The Innovation Series at The Ironworks highlights an eclectic array of experimental jazz. The lineup is as follows:

  • Darius Jones and Strings with Gerald Cleaver on June 24 at 9 and JOYFULTALK at 11:30 pm

  • Jaimie Branch C'est Trois on June 25 at 9 pm and JP Carter / Lisen Rylander Löve / Luke Stewart / Jason Nazary at 11:30 pm

  • Amendola vs Blades with Skerik and Cyro Baptista on June 26 at 9 pm and Anteloper at 11:30 pm

  • CANABRAVA NOW featuring Douglas R. Ewart and Mankwe Ndosi on June 27 at 9 pm

  • Like the Mind on June 28 at 9 pm

  • Wayne Horovitz Trio and Karen Ng on June 29 at 9 pm

  • Thumbscrew on June 30 at 9 pm

  • François Houle RECODER 4tet with Gordon Grdina, Mark Helias and Gerry Hemingway on July 1 at 9 pm and Gordon Grdina's Nomad Trio with Matt Mitchell and Jim Black at 11:30 pm 

  • FIRE! At 9 pm on July 2, with Dave Rempis, Tammy Babin and Kenton Loewen at 11:30 pm 

  • Amirtha Kidambi, Julia Úlehla and Darius Jones Sunday, July 3 at 9 pm and Jeff Parker (solo) at 11:30 pm 

 

Gamelan Bike Bike comes to the Roundhouse on July 2.

Meanwhile, at the Roundhouse, the fest presents programming as part of the annual David Lam Park weekend July 2 to 3. The lineup for the first day is Gamelan Bike Bike, 1:30 pm; James Meger’s How To Do Nothing, 3:15 pm; and Raagaverse, 5 pm. The following day features Beatings Are In The Body, 1:30 pm; Lina Allemano Four, 3:15 pm; and Dave Rempis, Torsten Müller, Dylan van der Schiff, 5 pm .
