The Vancouver International Wine Festival returns for 2024 with an eight-day celebration of wine and food

This 45th year, the spotlight shines on Italy, while Bard on the Beach is charitable partner

 
 
 

THE VANCOUVER INTERNATIONAL Wine Festival is back for its 45th year, running February 24 to March 3 at various Vancouver venues.

The focus for 2024 is on wines from Italy, with 71 wineries from 13 regions in attendance and 22 Italian-themed events. Overall, there will be 149 wineries taking part in 42 events. Some 30 wineries are from B.C.

Approximately 1,150 wines will be on offer, with around 800 wines in the Tasting Room and 350 being featured at special events.

Tickets are now on sale for winery dinners, the four flagship International Festival Tasting events at the Vancouver Convention Centre, the Super Pass and Trade Days Pass, and the Bacchanalia Gala Dinner + Auction, presented by National Bank Private Banking 1859. 

The fest’s charitable partner is Bard on the Beach, one of Canada's largest not-for-profit professional Shakespeare festivals, presented on the waterfront at Sen̓áḵw/Vanier Park. More than 2 million people have experienced Bard since its inception, with an annual attendance nearing 100,000. The 2024 festival dates are June 11 to September 21, and scheduled plays include Twelfth NightHamletThe Comedy of Errors, and Measure for Measure
