Vancouver Welsh Men’s Choir presents Sing We Now of Christmas December 13 at 7:30 pm at South Delta Baptist Church with a short program by South Delta Secondary School Choir; December 16 at 7:30 pm at Centennial Theatre with a short program by Argyle Secondary School Choirs; and December 18 to January 1, 2022 via digital stream, with a short program by Magee Secondary School Choirs.

SINGING IN THE Welsh tradition of four-part harmony, the Vancouver Welsh Men’s Choir is an auditioned 100-member Celtic choir led by professional musicians that performs a wide repertoire of traditional and contemporary choral music.

The group is now celebrating its return to live performance with Sing We Now of Christmas, a festive series led by music director Jonathan Quick and featuring pianist Karen Lee-Morlang, saxophonist Julia Nolan, and flutist Paolo Bortolussi.

As per tradition, the choir shares the stage with artists of the future: local high-school choral ensembles and two young vocalists, soprano Skye Wilkinson and mezzo-soprano Taryn Plater, who received the choir’s 2021 student bursaries.

The online concert, meanwhile, is an exclusive recording from Shaughnessy Heights United Church.

Sing We Now of Christmas kicked off with a December 5 performance at Massey Theatre with Winter Harp and a December 7 show at Surrey Arts Centre.
