VCC’s Flourish Gala 2023 supports aspiring culinary artists, February 28
Leading Vancouver chefs taking part include Bruno Feldeisen, Hamid Salimian, Erin Vickars, and Shelome Bouvette
VCC Foundation presents Flourish Gala on February 28 from 7 to 11 pm at VCC Broadway Campus
WITH VANCOUVER BEING a food city, it’s no wonder so many chefs train locally. Vancouver Community College is the largest culinary-arts school in Western Canada, and Flourish, its annual green-tie gala, raises funds to support current and future VCC students through scholarships and bursaries.
The event showcases the work of VCC’s highest-achieving students, faculty members, and alumni. The 2023 event’s chef roster includes Bruno Feldeisen, judge on the Great Canadian Baking Show; Shahni Arshad of Supper Club YVR; Tret Jordan of Truffles Catering; Heat Laliberte; Ocean Mama Seafood’s Leah Patitucci; Justine Smith of Sonora Resorts; The Stubborn Baker’s Jessica Kruger; Jennifer Peters of The Good Flour Co.; and Shelome Bouvette, member of Les Dames d'Escoffier. VCC chefs include Karen Gin, Hamid Salimian, Tobias MacDonald, Ronnie Nugent, Erin Vickars, Esther Kosa, Kim Serran, and Giulia Nardiello.
To go with tastings are wines from Naramata Bench Wineries Association and local craft beers. The evening also offers live music and stations featuring everything from jewellery to digital design.
Tickets and more details are here.
