Realwheels Theatre podcast series Waveforms is now available across streaming platforms

Ten episodes feature play excerpts and interviews with emerging theatre artists who identify with D/disability

From the Realwheels Playwriting Circle cohort of 2024 come 10 excerpts of new works by artists who identify with D/disability—now available in podcast form with the release of the podcast series Waveforms.

Hosted by Natasha Nadir and Adam Grant Warren, Waveforms blends immersive stories and dynamic conversations to showcase the immense talent of the Playwriting Circle participants. The podcast covers everything from astronauts and clowns to funerals and family dysfunction, pulling listeners into vibrant new worlds.

“If you know anything about the state of disability representation in Canadian theatre right now, then you’ll know that ten new plays in development by ten emerging playwrights who identify with disability, is kind of a big number,” shares Warren, co-artistic director of Realwheels Theatre, in a release.

Every episode introduces a playwright, their process, and their inspirations. Listeners also get to hear an excerpt of the playwright’s work with original music and sound by Leo Award–winning duo Finka Wood.

The first two episodes premiered on February 27, and new episodes were released weekly every Thursday. All episodes are out now and available to stream across platforms.
