Still Moon Arts Society has just announced that the 23rd annual Renfrew Ravine Moon Festival—honouring the harvest moon, community, art, and the diverse cultural traditions of Renfrew-Collingwood—will run from September 12 to October 4. The free festival features workshops and outings to connect participants with local artists, nature, community, and creativity.
This year’s festival theme, Wetlands, honours the bogs, marshes, and swamps that were once abundant in Renfrew-Collingwood, and imagines a future where everyone benefits from expanded, healthy green spaces along the creek. From bogs, quagmires, and marshes to sloughs and swamps, wetlands are bursting with life. They serve as nurseries for fish, abundant food sources for birds, and homes for beavers and other wildlife.
Highlights of the 2025 festival include Voices in the Garden on September 20—an inspiring afternoon filled with music, poetry, and art-making at the Colour-Me-Local Natural Dye Garden—and a Full Moon Labyrinth Walk on September 22, a walking meditation with live music to welcome the autumn season.

The main event takes place on October 4 with a five-hour journey that passes through two different parks and transitions between atmospheres and experiences along the way. From 4 pm to 9 pm, experience enchanting live music, dazzling lanterns, performances, and illuminated art, all set against a backdrop of towering trees and the flowing waters of the Renfrew Ravine.
The Harvest Fair will kick things off at Slocan Park from 4 pm to 6:45 pm with music, dance, and a giant puppet performance. Festivalgoers can warm up with a hearty bowl of harvest soup, browse items for sale by local artisans, and make a last-minute lantern to carry in the procession. From 6:45 pm to 7:05 pm, the Twilight Lantern Procession will lead the crowd from Slocan Park along the edge of Renfrew Ravine to Renfrew Community Park, accompanied by costumed performers and musicians. Once the procession reaches its final destination, Streamside Lanterns will begin; until 9 pm, folks can stroll through illuminated art and enjoy tasty treats to enchanting live music.
