Margaret Atwood, Louise Penny, and R.F. Kuang join Vancouver Writers Fest for The Bestsellers Series
Literary luminaries will discuss new works at the three-date event in May

THE MONTH OF May is a boon for local book lovers. Vancouver Writers Fest has announced The Bestsellers Series, featuring three literary giants.
Kicking things off on May 7 is Margaret Atwood in conversation with Scotiabank Giller Prize and Griffin Prize-winning author Ian Williams. Atwood will discuss Old Babes in the Wood, her new collection of short fiction. The event takes place at Chan Centre for the Performing Arts presented in partnership with Scotia Wealth Management and with support from the Chan Endowment Fund at UBC.

On May 13, best-selling author Louise Penny joins Shelagh Rogers at St. Andrew’s-Wesley United Church. Penny will dive into A World of Curiosities, the 18th book in her acclaimed mystery series.

On May 22, in a copresentation with Massy Books, award-winning novelist R.F. Kuang (Babel, the Poppy War Trilogy) converses with Eddy Boudel Tan at The Revue Stage on Granville Island. Kuang will discuss Yellowface, her new literary thriller that investigates racism in the publishing industry and beyond.
All events begin at 7:30 pm and are priced at $35 for standard tickets ($20 for youth under 25, $55 for premium seating where available). The Bestseller Series supports the Vancouver Writers Fest in fundraising for its flagship festival later this year. See here for more information.
