Vetta Chamber Music launches its 41st season with Legacy, September 25 to 28

Former artistic director Joan Blackman, esteemed pianist Jane Coop, and newly appointed artistic director Hung-Wei Huang join forces onstage

Vetta Chamber Music celebrates its artistic lineage with Legacy, the first concert of its 2026–27 season, from September 25 to 28.

For this special concert, Joan Blackman—former artistic director of Vetta for 19 years—and esteemed pianist Jane Coop are sharing the stage with Vetta’s newly appointed artistic director Hung-Wei Huang, in a program that honours the past while heralding a vibrant future.

The musicians are performing two pieces by Mozart: his Duo for Violin and Viola No. 1 in G major, K. 423 and Duo for Violin and Viola No. 2 in B-flat major, K. 424. The program also features Leoš Janáček’s Violin Sonata and Paul Hindemith’s Viola Sonata, Op. 11 No. 4.

Performances are set to take place at West Point Grey United Church on September 25, West Vancouver United Church on September 26, Pyatt Hall on September 27, and ArtSpring on Salt Spring Island on September 28.
