PopCappella, Chor Leoni’s signature pop-choral program, returns to St. Andrew’s–Wesley United Church on March 6 at 7:30 pm and March 7 at 3:30 pm and 7:30 pm.
Audiences are invited to experience high-impact harmonies and dazzling lights, all backed by a band of Vancouver’s finest players: pianist Ken Cormier, percussionist Liam MacDonald, bassist Laurence Mollerup, and guitarist Keith Sinclair. Led by conductor Erick Lichte, the 65 vocalists of Chor Leoni will perform vibrant, joyful, and larger-than-life arrangements of favourite hits by the Beach Boys, Bruce Springsteen, Sara Bareilles, the B-52s, and more.
Among the pieces on the program is “Northern Sky” by Nick Drake, arranged by Nicholas Ryan Kelly. Audiences can also expect to hear arrangements of Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep”, Electric Light Orchestra’s “Mr. Blue Sky”, John Denver’s “Country Roads”, The Proclaimers’s “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)”, and more.
Tickets to PopCappella and more details are available through Chor Leoni.
