Written by Hugh Wilson and The BC Hydro Power Pioneers, this publication tells the human history of the company that developed the electric system in British Columbia. Throughout the book, BC Hydro employees recount stories of the people and projects that delivered power across the province—ranging from an era when gas street lamps were lit by hand each evening, to the present day of technological advancements.
Gaslights to Gigawatts was first published in 1998 and became a BC Bestseller. This hardcover edition features new interviews and a contemporary design, with more than 300 archival photographs and illustrations, plus a glossary, chronology, and index.
