Gateway Theatre presents Pride and Prejudice, a fresh adaptation of Jane Austen’s classic novel by acclaimed playwright Kate Hamill. Running from April 17 to 26, this production marks the final show of Gateway Theatre’s 40th-anniversary season.

Pride and Prejudice follows the outspoken Elizabeth Bennet, whose determination not to bow to the societal pressure of marriage is challenged by the charmingly handsome, mildly amusing, and remarkably ubiquitous Mr. Darcy. With fast-paced staging and seamless character switches, this production promises a hilarious and heartwarming frolic for long-time Austen fans and newcomers alike.

Hamill, who is known for her inventive and feminist takes on literary classics, brings new life to Austen’s 1813 novel with screwball comedy and unexpected surprises. Don’t miss out on the wit, whimsy, and romance of this highly entertaining tale, designed for audiences ages 12 and up.
