House of Folk: A Lost Canadian Folk Show

The Firehall Arts Centre is producing and presenting the world premiere of Tracey Power’s House of Folk: A Lost Canadian Folk Show from February 14 to March 8.

Set in the 1960s during the height of the Canadian folk-music revival, House of Folk: A Lost Canadian Folk Show takes audiences to a time when coffeehouses from coast to coast were filled with song and spirit, becoming a source for conversation, communion, and personal revolution. This production uncovers the incredible voices and music of the artists who lived it, including Joni Mitchell, Leonard Cohen, Neil Young, Gordon Lightfoot, and more. It honours those who had the courage to step up to the mic—and to ask audiences to listen.

House of Folk: A Lost Canadian Folk Show features musical arrangements by Van Wilmott, with creative direction by Power, Wilmott, and the Firehall’s artistic producer Donna Spencer.

This work is sponsored by the McGrane-Pearson Endowment Fund. For tickets and more details, visit the Firehall.
