B3 Kings
In a popular holiday tradition, the B3 Kings are returning to the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts with classic Christmas grooves to make the season bright. Performances are taking place on December 18 and 19 at 7:30 pm and December 20 at 2 pm.
Formed in 2002 for a Christmas concert at Cory Weeds’ Cellar Jazz Club, the B3 Kings became such a huge hit that the concert has become an annual sensation, with the band touring extensively in B.C. and Alberta. The quartet is anchored by Canadian vocal sensation Denzal Sinclaire, who also doubles as the band’s drummer.
Hammond B3 organist Chris Gestrin brings his wicked organ grooves and creative arrangements of Christmas songs to the group. Cory Weeds is a renowned tenor saxophonist with an expressive sound rooted in jazz tradition. And guitarist Bill Coon is as funky as they come with a wonderful jazz sensibility.
