Shadbolt Centre for the Arts presents the Nightcrawlers with Toronto-based singer, songwriter, and bandleader Ale Avery Nunez on November 28 at 7:30 pm.
Armed with a timeless voice, Nunez has firm roots in jazz and soul and a true dedication to swing. Onstage, she brings a musical sophistication to every performance with a tone that is uniquely her own. Nunez has established herself as an in-demand vocalist who has performed at such hallowed Toronto jazz venues as The Rex and the Jazz Bistro.
In Nightcrawlers, the vibe of 1960s Hammond B3 organ bands is very much alive and well. This award-winning quintet’s gritty, soulful, swaggering music is all about stirring up a good time. Led by acclaimed drummer Jesse Cahill, this who’s who of the Vancouver jazz scene features tenor saxophone player Cory Weeds, guitarist Dave Sikula, percussionist Jack Duncan, and Chris Gestrin behind the hefty Hammond organ.
Tickets are available here.
