Sound the Alarm: Music/Theatre launches B.C. concert tour of A Whole New World, May 17 to June 20

Sound the Alarm: Music/Theatre brings a second major concert tour to audiences with A Whole New World: A Concert of Movie Musicals’ Greatest Songs, featuring a live band and a celebrated cast of professional singers. This all-Canadian production sets the magic of Disney and Hollywood’s most iconic musical hits on a B.C. tour beginning May 17 and running until June 20.
From the creators and producers of the national smash-hit Music of the Night: The Concert Tour, this new show celebrates legendary songs from beloved movie musicals. Audiences will be immersed in the tunes from Disney classics and renowned Hollywood studios in an unforgettable all-ages experience.
The concert production features two acts full of acclaimed songs. Act one is a tribute to timeless Disney melodies, with songs from Pinocchio, The Aristocrats, Mary Poppins, The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Frozen, Beauty and the Beast, and more. Act two, meanwhile, showcases Hollywood hits from iconic musicals such as The Sound of Music, Les Misérables, Grease, Mamma Mia!, La La Land, Moulin Rouge, The Greatest Showman, Wicked, and beyond.
This new production features lighting design by Jason Hand, who is known for his work with Disney’s global immersive events and his progressive designs on Canadian opera stages. Members of the esteemed artistic team include both exciting new names and returning talents from Music of the Night, including musical director Frederik Robert, who will again collaborate with Evan Berndt on music design and orchestrations, and Alan Corbishley, who will lead as creative director once more.

The cast includes returning vocalists Aaron Hastelow, Adam Fisher, Tainui Kuru, and Georgia Bennett, joined by new artists Ruth Acheampong, Kryslyne-Mai Ancheta, Kaleigh Gorka, and Aaron Durand. They are accompanied by returning band members Evan Berndt, Arielle Ballance, Dean McKey, Carol Colpitts, David Usselman, and Cole Friesen.
This exceptional all-Canadian cast, with credentials ranging from Stratford to international productions, delivers powerful vocals that form the heart of A Whole New World.
