Studio 58 presents Linck & Mülhahn from November 21 to December 1

STUDIO 58 AT snəw̓eyəɬ leləm̓ Langara College is mounting a new queer play by Ruby Thomas and directed by Studio 58 graduate Angelica Schwartz.

Linck & Mülhahn is set in the 18th century and follows Anastasius Linck (Lucy Jeffery) and Catharina Mülhahn (Yorlene Bernido), who fall in love—and lust—at first sight. Catharina battles against her mother’s desire for a traditional marriage in favour of her independence while Anastasius works to conceal his identity to stay alive. The two explore gender and sexual identities as society aims to tear them apart, a struggle that resonates with the 2SLGBTQIA+ community today.

The story centres on the historical mistreatment of 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals, exploring topics such as societal erasure, rejection, misgendering, and injustice. There are timeless themes of power, love, identity, and resilience.
